 About the Role:

The Logistics Coordinator supports day-to-day order processing and logistics activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient fulfillment of customer orders. This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Planning, Procurement and Production, and Logistics partners to track orders, coordinate on time pickup and deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain accurate operational data. The position requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Order Coordination & Processing

  • Monitor open orders and proactively identify potential issues such as production delays, inventory shortages, carrier constraints, etc. 
  • Communicate concerns early to Sales, Production, Planning and Procurement teams to minimize downstream impact.
  • Maintain accurate order status updates within ERP and logistics systems to support visibility and reporting.

Logistics & Shipping Support

  • Communicate with production daily to manage missed pickup exceptions by determining cause, coordinating reschedules with carriers or internal teams, notifying Sales, and proactively monitoring priority orders.
  • Coordinate shipment exceptions and resolutions, including but not limited to address changes, general delivery issues, and carrier-related delays.
  • Support Sales inquiries and customer-facing teams by providing timely and accurate updates on order status, shipment tracking, and delivery progress.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures for logistics processes
  • Escalate issues appropriately with clear documentation and supporting details.

Reporting, Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize our 3PLs online platform to overview key operational metrics such as on-time pickups, deliveries, or delivery exceptions.
  • Identify process inefficiencies or recurring issues and communicate them to leadership.
  • Assist with documentation updates, job aids, and procedural improvements.

Internal Transfer Order Entry & Coordination

  • Coordinate transfer orders between the main warehouse and offsite storage facilities to support inventory balancing and operational needs.
  • Enter, process, and maintain internal transfer orders accurately within the ERP system to ensure inventory visibility and traceability.
  • Coordinate full truckload (FTL) pickup and deliveries for transfers. Communicate shipment schedules, pickup requirements, and delivery expectations with offsite partners to ensure on‑time performance.

Inbound Container Coordination & Tracking

  • Support the inbound container process by tracking all active containers weekly and monitoring status updates.
  • Review container and current inventory statuses to monitor potential risks for inventory that are low and could delay orders on our books.
  • Raise concerns to the Planner regarding delays, missing container numbers, or other inbound risks.
  • Coordinate with Production to identify availability in the schedule to arrange container deliveries to our main warehouse, or offsite storage.
  • Coordinate directly with carriers to arrange container deliveries on behalf of production
  • Communicate driver delays or last-minute delivery changes to Production to minimize disruption.
